Wickford CofE are proud to be a Healthy School.
We were awarded the Healthy School’s Award in 2017 for our contributions to a healthy lifestyle. The core themes we had to work towards for the award were: Healthy eating, Well-being, PSHE and PE. As a school we know how important it is to stay healthy physically and mentally. As a school community we grow fruits and vegetables which have been used and cooked in our delicious school lunches. Mrs Boswell is always producing the tastiest lunches which are perfect for a balanced diet. We have held and continue to hold gardening and cooking clubs, as well as clubs focusing on fitness and mindfulness for the children’s well being.
We strive to be the best in the school and have other awards we will be working towards in the new academic year
From Investors in People report - June 2014
'The school continues to impress and innovate'.
'The work of leaders and managers, including governors, has led to pupils receiving an excellent quality of education to make their achievement outstanding'.
'Outstanding leadership helps the school aspire to enabling pupils to attain the highest standards. These impressive results are achieved by accurate and rigorous self-evaluation, linked to clear sighted planning'.
'Staff clearly believe that this is a special place to work and so do I'.
The Arts are interwoven into the very fabric of our school and our whole school ethos. We are supporting our assertion of ‘Always more....’ by developing our Creative Arts further. Our Artsmark journey offers opportunities for exploring new art forms, art organisations, partnerships and school projects. We currently hold a Silver certificate that we are very proud of.
